Pets at Hamilton Farmers Market

No Pets Allowed

The Hamilton Farmers Market is a pet-free market.

Pets, including dogs, are not permitted within the market area during market hours.

This policy is required under City of Hamilton ordinance and applies to all attendees, vendors, and visitors.

Service Animals

ADA-defined service animals are permitted.

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is a dog individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability.

Emotional support animals (ESAs), comfort animals, companion animals, and therapy dogs are not considered service animals under the ADA and are not permitted in the market.

Why This Policy Exists

This policy helps maintain:

  • Public safety

  • Food safety standards

  • Accessibility for all guests

  • A comfortable environment in crowded market conditions

Even well-behaved pets may create safety concerns in busy spaces with food, children, mobility devices, and working service animals.

Please Plan Ahead

If you plan to visit the market, please leave pets at home before arriving.

Visitors who bring pets into the market area may be asked to leave.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe and accessible market environment for everyone.
